Commentary

The script is close to that of Fragment BD 6687, but the latter probably does not belong to our inscription; in any case, it cannot be joined.

2. Here we probably have a mention of the same Caesar, son of Zoures, who was archon in 181 C.E., and attested in I, 2, allowing us to date our inscription within the same time period. The restoration of this name is almost certain: the left diagonal of an ypsilon is clear at the break.

3. The restoration was suggested by P.O.Karyshkovsky. Another possible reading might be -ου Σαρ-, in which case we would have a continuation of the list of names evident in line 2, and most likely in line 1.

4. The restoration is rather doubtful; after iota, only the top of one slightly inclined stroke is preserved: it could be a delta, carved with the same positioning of diagonals as the alpha in preceding line, but it may also be a vertical of different letter.
