Commentary

A dedication on behalf of Thracian king Kottys VIII (12-19 C.E.), made in Chersonesos, which was dependent on the Bosporan Kingdom at that time, and in view of close dynasitc ties between Bosporus and Thrace in early decades of I century C.E., should cause no surprise. See Makarov 2007, 67ff.
