Additional description

Upper part of a stele with cornice. Top left corner is broken off. The back is treated summarily. Below the cornice - two-line inscription cut in thin strokes and traced in black paint.

Kammis, (son of) Antiphilos.

 

Commentary

Personal name Κάμμις is not otherwise attested. Предлагалась видеть в нем одноосновное имя группы καμεῖν (Bechtel, HPN 234) с экспрессивной геминацией (Robert 1966, 117). Cf. the name Καμις (Беотия, SEG 19, 352; LGPN III.B).
