Additional description

Thin panel inset in a large limestone block. Consists of several joining fragments. The front is well worked. A relief bust protrait of a man in the left half of the panel, with a two-line inscription below the relief. To the right of the male relief, an empty space was probably reserved for the portrait of the wife of the deceased.

Alpha with straight crossbar, cursive epsilon (alongside rectangular) and sigma, theta with attached crossbar, oval omicron the size of other letters, small serifs and flaring of the ends of hastae; interpuncta; ligatures.

Commentary

Ivanova (1941, 110) dates the relief and inscription to the time of the Antonines.
