Commentary

1. On the formula, see Introduction IV.3.E.a.

2. The name Zacharias is otherwise unattested in the Nortern Black Sea region; it is most likely that of a monk. Such an abbreviation of the word presbyter is well attested in Crimea (see commentary to V 201).
