Commentary

A photograph of the inscription was attached to the typescript of the report about the excavations of 1889 and 1890 in the archive of the National Preserve of Tauric Chersonesos, but in the register of finds for the year 1890 the monument is not listed; perhaps it was found in 1889 when a detailed registration of finds had not yet been introduced.

2-4. On the formula, see Introduction IV.3.F.d; the reverse order of words is attested in Γιαννόπουλος 1912, 154, № 4 (Thessaly, VIth (?) century)

Diamond-shaped sigma has a parallel in V 60.
