Commentary

The stone served as a doorstep of the south side door of Taman's Pokrov church. The drawing of the inscription was published by Latyshev (1896, 113, № 103) without a critical edition. Little can be said about its content, but judging by the choice of vocabulary, the text was written in high literary style.
